Harmony Hills Chorus, based in Birmingham, Alabama, is affiliated with Sweet Adelines International; whose mission is to advance the musical art form of barbershop harmony through education and performance. One of more than 700 chapters throughout the world, Harmony Hills started back in 1971 with an enthusiastic goal to share their special style of a cappella singing. This goal still remains true today and members now include women from as far away as Tuscaloosa, Clanton, Hanceville, Columbiana, and Vance.
This award winning chorus has excelled in annual regional competitions, consistently placing in the top five medalists, and has also competed on the International level. They have been invited to perform at Carnegie Hall and also at the Performing Arts Festival in Austria along with many shows, concerts, conventions, and gatherings in and around the Birmingham area. They have won first place in the small chorus division of Region 23 Sweet Adelines competition for 2010 and March, 2011.
These talented singers meet each Tuesday evening to improve individually and as a chorus. Training in vocal production, showmanship techniques and administrative skills offer a wide range of opportunities for personal growth for those involved.
As you can see, Harmony Hills is a singing group with a little something extra. They enjoy a friendly, loving, fun atmosphere while working hard to be top-notch performers.
